Program Overview:

The objectives of the IND Technology Program, managed by Stephen Townes , are to identify, develop, and demonstrate new technologies and innovative approaches to meet the telecommunications, mission operations, and science needs of present and future IND customers at a minimum end-to-end cost to NASA.

The overall IND Technology Program is separated into two major areas, each considering end-to-end questions. The DSMS technology program, managed by Faramaz Davarian, looks at lower-layer (closer to physical layer) issues, while the Non-DSMS technology program, managed by Dimitrios Antsos deals with higher layers (network protocols through applications). Visit this link for a graphical overview of program.

The program is organized into a set of work areas representing core competencies which are critical to achieving cost-effective, state-of-the-art space mission operations and telecommunications. Visit this link for an overview of the work areas and a set of one page descriptions of the technology tasks planned in each area.
